There really is no right or wrong answer when it comes to how often you should attend therapy! Everyone's needs, circumstances, and goals are different.
Some people find that weekly sessions are helpful, particularly when they're first starting therapy or navigating something challenging. Others prefer biweekly sessions, which can offer a little more time between appointments to reflect, practise new skills, and put things into practice.
It's also important to know that therapy frequency isn't set in stone! You might start with weekly sessions, transition to biweekly appointments as things begin to feel more manageable, and eventually move to monthly check-ins. There may also be times when you need a little extra support and want to increase the frequency again.
We'll regularly check in about what feels helpful for you and adjust as needed. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process, and we'll find a rhythm that works for you!

There is no set timeline for when you will start to feel better, and everyone's therapy journey looks a little different. Some people begin to notice small changes within the first few sessions, while for others, progress takes a little more time.
It's also important to remember that progress isn't always linear. You might have weeks where things feel lighter and others where things feel a little harder. Sometimes, working through difficult experiences can bring up uncomfortable feelings before things begin to feel more manageable.
Our goal is to work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, celebrate the small wins along the way, and help you develop tools and strategies that support you both in and outside of sessions.
You don't have to have everything figured out before coming to therapy. We'll take things one step at a time, together!
